By the sea on the Durham coast, you’ll find Deliciaedax, our home with longhaired Miniature Dachshunds.

 

The name Deliciaedax is derived from the Latin Deliciae, meaning beloved, cherished, a source of delight. A fitting reflection of how we view our dogs and the role they hold within our lives.

 

We are a small show kennel with a genuine passion for exhibiting and occasionally breeding Dachshunds. Showing allows us to assess type, structure, movement, and temperament, while breeding carries the responsibility of preserving those qualities for future generations.

 

Our focus is clear and consistent: health, type, temperament, and purpose. We do not breed for colour trends or dilute colours. Instead, we aim to preserve and strengthen correct breed type through carefully considered pairings from well-selected international lines that contribute quality, diversity, and integrity to our programme. Every pairing is intentional.

 

Beyond the show ring, our Dachshunds live as part of our home. They are raised within a normal household environment with the time, handling, structure, and exposure needed to develop into stable, confident, and well-adjusted dogs.

 

Each puppy is reared underfoot with careful socialisation and individual attention, leaving us confident they are well prepared for life within their new homes.

 

Puppies leave Deliciaedax with a comprehensive puppy pack, first vaccinations, microchip, and Kennel Club registration. Ongoing support is always available throughout the dog’s lifetime.

 

Our priority has always been the careful placement of each puppy into loving, suitable, and committed homes.
